Natchitoches Parish
History
In the Crossroads
region of northern Louisiana,
Natchitoches Parish was formed in 1807 as an
original parish. Its parish seat,
Natchitoches, is off I-49 about 70 miles southeast of Shreveport and 160 miles
northwest of Baton Rouge. Natchitoches Parish is bordered by the
parishes of Red River,
Bienville, Winn, Grant,
Rapides, Vernon and
Sabine.
