In the Crossroads
region of northern Louisiana,
Grant Parish was formed in 1869 from Winn
and Rapides
Parishes. Its
parish seat,
Colfax, is on
US-167 about 150 miles northwest of Baton Rouge. Grant is bordered by the
parishes of Winn, La Salle, Rapides
and Natchitoches.
