History
In the Crossroads
region of central Louisiana,
Sabine Parish was formed in 1843 from Natchitoches
Parish. Its
parish seat,
Many, is on
US-171 about 75 miles south of Shreveport and 175 miles northwest of Baton Rouge. Sabine is bordered by the
Louisiana parishes of De Soto, Natchitoches,
and Vernon; and by
the Texas county of Newton.
