Winn Parish
History
In the Crossroads
region of northern Louisiana,
Winn Parish was formed in 1851 from
Natchitoches, Rapides
and Catahoula Parishes. Its parish seat,
Winnfield, is on
US-84 about 90 miles southeast of Shreveport and 150 miles northwest of Baton Rouge. Winn is bordered by the
parishes of
Bienville, Jackson,
Caldwell, La Salle, Grant and
Natchitoches.
