Bienville Parish
History
In the Uplands region of
northern Louisiana,
Bienville Parish was formed in 1848 from
Claiborne Parish. Its parish seat,
Arcadia, is on
US-20 about 50 miles east of Shreveport and 200 miles northwest of Baton Rouge. Bienville is bordered by the parishes of
Webster, Claiborne,
Lincoln, Jackson,
Winn, Natchitoches,
Red River and Bossier.
