Lincoln Parish
History
In the Uplands region of
northern Louisiana, Lincoln Parish was formed in
1873 from
Union, Jackson, Bienville and
Claiborne Parishes. Its parish seat,
Ruston, is on
I-20, about 65 miles east of Shreveport and 190 miles northwest of Baton Rouge. Lincoln is bordered by the parishes of
Union, Ouachita,
Jackson, Bienville and
Claiborne.
