Lumpkin County

History
In the Piedmont Region of Georgia,
Lumpkin County was formed in 1832 from Cherokee,
Habersham and Hall Counties. Its county seat,
Dahlonega, is on
US-19 about 70 miles NNE of Atlanta. Lumpkin is bordered by the counties of
Union, White,
Hall,
Dawson and Fannin.
