Union County

History
In the Blue Ridge Region of Georgia,
Union County was formed in 1832 from Cherokee County. Its county seat,
Blairsville, is on
US-76/GA-515 about 100 miles NNE of Atlanta. Union is bordered by the
Georgia counties of
Towns, White,
Lumpkin and Fannin, and the North Carolina counties of
Cherokee and Clay.
