History
In the Piedmont Region of Georgia,
White County was formed in 1857 from
Habersham County. Its county seat,
Cleveland, is on
US-129 about 80 miles northeast of Atlanta. White is bordered by the counties of
Towns, Habersham,
Hall, Lumpkin and
Union.
