Irwin County

History

In the Upper Coastal Plains Region of Georgia, Irwin County was formed in 1818 as an original county from the Creek cession. Its county seat, Ocilla, is on US-129 about 180 miles SSE of Atlanta. Irwin is bordered by the counties of Ben Hill, Coffee, Berrien, Tift and Turner.
