Coffee County
History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Coffee County was formed in 1854 from
Clinch,
Irwin, Ware and
Telfair
Counties. Its county seat,
Douglas, is on
US-441 about 200 miles southeast of Atlanta and 125 miles WSW of Savannah. Coffee is bordered by the counties of
Telfair, Jeff Davis, Bacon,
Ware,
Atkinson, Berrien,
Irwin
and Ben Hill.
