Early County
History
In the Upper
Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Early County was formed in
1818 as an original county from the Creek Cession. Its county seat,
Blakely, is on
US-27 about 200 miles south of Atlanta and 30 miles miles east of Dothan, AL. Early is bordered by the Georgia counties of
Clay, Calhoun, Baker, Miller
and Seminole, and the Alabama counties of
Henry and
Houston.
