Baker County was formed in
1825 from Early County. Its county seat,
Newton, is about 200 miles
south of Atlanta and 65 miles north of Tallahassee, FL. Baker is bordered by the counties of
Calhoun, Dougherty, Mitchell,
Decatur, Miller and Early.
