Atkinson County

History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Atkinson County was formed in 1917 from
Clinch and Coffee Counties. Its county seat,
Pearson, is on
US-82 about 225 miles SSE of Atlanta and 125 miles WSW of Savannah. Atkinson is bordered by the counties of
Coffee, Ware,
Clinch, Lanier and
Berrien.
