History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Bacon County was formed in 1914 from
Appling, Pierce and
Ware Counties. Its county seat, Alma, is on
US-1 about 200 miles southeast of Atlanta and 100 miles WSW of Savannah. Bacon is bordered by the counties of
Jeff Davis,
Appling,
Pierce, Ware
and Coffee.
