Butts County

History
In the Piedmont Region of Georgia,
Butts County was formed in 1825 from
Henry and
Monroe Counties. Its county seat, Jackson, is on
US-23 about 50 miles SSE of Atlanta and 50 miles NNW of Macon. Butts is bordered by the counties of
Henry, Newton, Jasper,
Monroe, Lamar and
Spalding.
