Death*circa 1779 He died at Norfolk Co., Virginia, circa 1779.
Biography* 1778 -- Norfolk Tithables, from Portsmouth along South Side of the Western Branch, Reuben Culpepper, one tithe. Reuben would have been about 37 years old in 1778, and this is the last reference to him in Norfolk tithe records. Thus, he probably died around 1779.

However, there was in the 1782 Census of Lower Norfolk Co., VA an "Rd. Culpepper" who otherwise is unaccounted for. It is conceivable that this was Reuben Culpepper as there were no other R. Culpeppers known to have been born between 1690 and 1770 who cannot be ruled out for other reasons.
Research note*26 Apr 2004 Reuben is a known son of Robert Culpepper Jr., based on tithable records.
