Obituary* | 24 Nov 2010 | Ellen Crowell Culpepper, age 84, of 1886 Hwy. 72 E., died Tuesday, November 23, 2010, in the National Health Care Center in Clinton. She was born in Lockhart, SC and was a daughter of the late Robert L. Crowell and Lois Crowell Lopez. Mrs. Culpepper was a retired employee of Clinton Mills, Lydia Plant and attended Lydia Church of God. Surviving are her husband, Harley H. Culpepper of the home; one daughter, Kathy Culpepper Hickey of Martinez, GA; one step daughter, Vounda Smith of Belton; one brother, Robert Crowell of Ninety Six; and six grandchildren, Rachel Culpepper Hickey, Nickolas Culpepper Hickey, Jimmy Smith, Donnie Smith, Barry Smith and Sharon Smith. Mrs. Culpepper was predeceased by a sister, Beatrice Crowell Ryan; and three brothers, William H. Crowell and Franklin D. Crowell and Skeet Crowell. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, Nov. 26th at 11:00 a.m. in Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.grayfuneralhome.com. Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is service the family.
