I am very interested in tracing the Perry line back further than Hugh Perry of South Carolina. My closest DNA link is with William Hugh (Bill) Perry whose email address is priscillaperry@hotmail.com . His family were Presbyterians that came to the U.S. from Creggan Parrish in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. I found a little more information on the Perry's (Peery's) that lived in Creggan Parrish in the 1700s. Some people on Ancestry.com have connected Hugh Perry with a line of Perry's that came to the US from England but I'm sure, based on my family's tradition and now the DNA evidence, that they came from Northern Ireland. Based on DNA matches that stretch further back in time it looks like this Perry line may have moved to Northern Ireland from Scotland and may have moved to Scotland from England at an earlier time.
