died Oct. 11, 1999, at his residence. Mr. Gomez was born in Hardwick, Vt., and was the son of the late Miguel and Carmen Mogro Gomez. He was the husband of the late Miriam Culpepper Gomez. He retired as a surveyor for the city of Chesapeake. In his earlier years, he farmed in the area of the Gomez borrow pit, which is now located on Centerville Turnpike. He was a member of Chesapeake Seventh-day Adventist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Linda Combs of Camden County, N.C; six sons, Charles Gomez, Mark Gomez, Vernon Gomez, Earl Combs, Eugene Combs and James Combs, all of Chesapeake; a brother, Robert Gomez of Virginia Beach; a sister, Alba Jackson of Virginia Beach; and 15 grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Chesapeake Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1200 N. Centerville Turnpike, by Pastor Rex Frost. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park. Ralph was born on August 27, 1930 in Norfolk County (Chesapeake), Virginia to Leander and Della King Culpeper. Ralph left home at an early age to help support his family, working many jobs. His lifelong career was as a dairy salesman for Birtcherd, Shumadine, Sealtest, and Pet dairies for over 30 years. He was an active member of Riverside and Levelgreen Baptist Churches. He retired from Civil Service which included Norfolk Naval Shipyard and Naval Aviation Depot Norfolk. His passions were God, his wife and his four sons. He was a devoted Washington Redskins fan, NASCAR and Pontiac enthusiast. He is survived by four sons: Gary and his wife, Janelle, Larry and his wife, Joanne, Barry and his wife, Debora, and Jerry. Grandchildren include Shannon, Lori, Elyce, and Bryce. Great-grandchildren include Clayton, Liam, and Mason. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Ruth, after 62 years of marriage. Ralph will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ivar Long Culpepper; two daughters, Arlene Marie Culpepper Mullaney and her husband, Jack, of Chesapeake and Linda Culpepper Lambert and her husband, Charlie, of Virginia Beach; a son, Harry A. Culpepper Jr. and his wife, Jane, of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Robin, Mechelle, Wendy, Andy, Harry III and Tammy; and 10 great-grandchildren, Jeff, Amber, Mandy, Brittney, D.J., Raven, Dule, Tyler, Jordan and Harry IV.
A service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2000, at Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. Harold Bergey. Interment will follow at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chesapeake. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.7 |

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Graham Funeral Home by the Rev. Leroy W. Davis. Burial will be in Good Hope Church Cemetery.7 |

She is survived by her daughter, Linda C. Lambert and husband, Charles; her son, Harry Culpepper, Jr. and wife, Jane; her six grandchildren, and her 15 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. She also leaves her two brothers, Tommy Thomas and Clinton White both of Florida.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 in the Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1633 Benefit Road, Chesapeake, 23322.

Mrs. Mullaney was a beloved wife, devoted mother, treasured daughter, boisterous sister, a wonderful grannie and an avid animal lover.
In addition to her father, Arlene was predeceased by her brother, Wilbur Culpepper and her granddaughter, Raven Blanco.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 25 years, John W. Mullaney; her two daughters, Robin Blanco and husband Mario, Mechelle Herrington and husband Larry; three grandchildren, Dulie, Sissy and Bubby; one brother, Harry Culpepper; and one sister, Linda Lambert of Chesapeake

Faye dedicated her entire life to serving her family, and always placed others needs before her own. She was tirelessly devoted to raising her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her strength, tenacity and kind loving heart.
Survivors include her sons, Gordon L. Culpepper (Rebecca), Robert G. Culpepper (Whitney); grandsons, Ronald L. Culpepper (Deidra), William Reid Culpepper (Tracy), Michael Shawn Fitzgerald (Lori), Vernon James Poindexter (Hannah), Brandon Lewis, John Reid Culpepper, Jr. (Alena), Patrick Bell Culpepper (Marissa), Mervin Ryan Culpepper (Danielle); as well as many beloved great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
