Brush Country, Karnes
County was formed in 1846 from Bexar,
Dewitt, Goliad and San
Patricio
Counties. Its county seat, Karnes City, is on
US-181, about 50 miles
southeast of San Antonio. Karnes County is bordered by the counties of Gonzales,
De Witt, Goliad, Bee,
Live Oak, Atascosa and Wilson.
