Brush Country, Live Oak
County was formed in 1856 from
San Patricio and Nueces
Counties. Its county seat, George West,
is on I-37, about 80 miles south of San Antonio. Live Oak is bordered by the counties
of Karnes, Bee,
San Patricio, Jim Wells,
Duval, McMullen and Atascosa.
