Atascosa County
County History and Geography
Atascosa County was formed in 1856 from
Bexar County. Its county seat, Jourdantown, is
about 30 miles south of San Antonio. Atascosa County is
bordered by the counties of Bexar,
Wilson, Karnes,
Live Oak, McMullen, Frio
and Medina.
