Treutlen County

History
In the Upper
Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Treutlen County was formed in 1917 from
Emanuel and
Montgomery
Counties. Its county seat,
Soperton, is on
I-16 about 165 miles southeast of Atlanta and 80 miles ESE of Macon. Treutlen is bordered by the counties of
Johnson, Emanuel, Montgomery,
Wheeler and Laurens.
