Candler County
History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Candler County was formed in 1914 from Bulloch,
Emanuel and
Tattnall Counties. Its county seat,
Metter, is on
I-16 about 190 miles southeast of Atlanta and 60 miles west of Savannah. Candler is bordered by the counties of
Emanuel, Bulloch,
Evans, Tattnall and
Toombs.
