Bryan County

History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
Bryan County was formed in 1793 from
Chatham and Effingham
Counties. Its county seat,
Pembroke, is on
US-280 about 225 miles southeast of Atlanta and 40 miles west of Savannah. Bryan is bordered by the counties of
Bulloch,
Effingham,
Chatham,
Liberty and Evans, and the
Atlantic Ocean.
