Baldwin County
History
In the Piedmont Region of Georgia,
Baldwin County was formed in
1803 as an original county from the Creek Cessions. Its county seat,
Milledgeville, is on
US-441 about 100 miles southeast of Atlanta and 35 miles northeast of Macon. Baldwin is bordered by the counties of
Putnam, Hancock,
Washington, Wilkinson
and Jones.
