Chicot County

County History and Geography

In the Delta Region and southeastern corner of Arkansas, Chicot County was formed in 1823 from Arkansas County. Lake Village, its county seat, is on US-82 and US-86, about 130 miles southeast of Little Rock. Chicot is bordered by the Arkansas counties of Ashley, Drew and Desha, the Mississippi River, Washington Co., Mississippi, and West Carroll and East Carroll Parishes of Louisiana.
