West Carroll Parish
History
In the Uplands region of
northern Louisiana, West Carroll Parish was formed in
1877 from Carroll Parish. Its
parish seat,
Oak Grove, is about 190 miles north of Baton Rouge. West Carroll is bordered by the Louisiana parishes of
East Carroll, Richland and
Morehouse, as well as by the Arkansas county of Chicot.
