Ashley County

County History and Geography

In the Timberlands Region of southern Arkansas, Ashley County was formed in 1848 from Chicot, Union and Drew counties. Its county seat, Hamburg, is on US-82, about 110 miles SSE of Little Rock. Ashley is bounded by the Arkansas counties of Chicot, Bradley, Union and Drew, and the Louisiana parish of Morehouse.
