Obituary*17 Sep 2008 BELTON, SC - Harry Estes Culpepper, 56, husband of Peggy Craig Culpepper of 433 Forest Lane died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Greenville Regency Hospital. Born in Aiken County, he was the son of the late William Marshall and Helen Heath Culpepper. He was a member of Belton First Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the SC School for the Deaf and Blind and went on to become a strong deaf advocate and leader, serving in many deaf organizations across the state. He was appointed as the first deaf member of the Board of Commissioners of the SC School for the Deaf and Blind and served for 27 years. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: sons, Harry Culpepper, Jr. of Bluffton, Marshall Durrell Culpepper and wife Dawn of Honea Path and Heath Charles Culpepper of Belton; grandchildren, Sarah Nichole Culpepper and Eric Freeman both of Honea Path. Graveside services will be conducted 3pm Thursday at Belton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm Wednesday at Cox Funeral Home. Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Walker Foundation - Deaf Division (SCSDB) or the SC Association of the Deaf. The family will be at the residence.2
