Obituary*16 Sep 2008 PORTSMOUTH - Fred Ernest Culpepper Sr., 85, passed away Sept. 13, 2008, in his residence. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a designer. He was a member of First Presbyterian of Portsmouth and a loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Ethel J. Culpepper; daughter, Arlene Goff; two sons, Fred E. Culpepper Jr. and wife Karen of Roanoke, Va., and David A. Culpepper of Portsmouth; and three grandchildren, Hunter, Jennifer and Jason. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery by the Rev. Walter C. Hunting with full military honors. She was a retired administrative assistant at the Jupiter Medical Center. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens. Survivors include two nieces, Madlyn Bridgman of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Debra Demil of Olympia, Wash; and two nephews, Earl Culpepper and Brian Culpepper both of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Ralph Buglione on June 19, 2001. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Palm Beach Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice. Arrangements were by Taylor & Modeen Funeral Home, Jupiter.4
