Tyler County

County History and Geography

In the Piney Woods Region of east Texas, Tyler County was formed in 1846 from Liberty County. Its county seat, Woodville, is on US-287 and US-190, about 90 miles NE of Houston. Tyler is bordered by the counties of Jasper, Hardin, Polk and Angelina.
