Cottle County

County History and Geography

In the Rolling Plains Region of the Texas Panhandle, Cottle County was formed in 1876 from Fannin County. Its county seat, Paducah, is about 120 miles SW of Amarillo and 150 miles NNW of Abilene. Cottle is bordered by the counties of Childress, Hardeman, Foard, King, Motley and Hall.
