In the South Texas
Brush Country, Frio
County was formed in 1858 (organized in 1871) from
Uvalde,
Bexar and Atascosa Counties. Its county seat, Pearsall, is on I-35 about 60
miles SW of San Antonio. Frio is bordered by the counties of
Medina, Atascosa,
La Salle and Zavala.
