Hoke County
County History and Geography
In the Inner Coastal Plain and the southeastern part of
North Carolina, Hoke County was formed in 1911
from Cumberland and Robeson Counties.
Raeford, its county seat, is on US-401, about 70 miles southwest of
Raleigh. Hoke County, along with adjacent Cumberland County, is home of
the US Army's Fort Bragg. Hoke is bordered by the counties of
Cumberland, Robeson,
Scotland,
Moore and
Harnett.
