Henderson County
History
On the Ohio River
in Kentucky's Western Coalfields Region, Henderson County was formed in 1798 from
Christian County. Its county seat,
Henderson, is on
the Audubon and Pennyrile Parkways about 180 miles west of Lexington and just
across the river, south from Evansville, IN. Henderson is bordered by the Kentucky counties of
Union, Webster, McLean and Daviess, as well as by the
Indiana counties of Posey,
Vanderburgh and Warrick..
