Posey County
History
In the southwestern
corner of Indiana,
Posey County was formed in 1814 from Warrick County. Its county seat,
Mount Vernon, is on
the Ohio River, about 20 miles west of Evansville and 130 miles west of
Louisville, KY. Posey is bordered by the Indiana counties of
Gibson and Vanderburgh, as well as by Gallatin
Co., IL and Henderson and Union Co., KY.
