Ouachita County

County History and Geography

In the Timberlands Region of southern Arkansas, Ouachita County was formed in 1842 from Union County. Its county seat, Camden, is on the Ouachita River and US-79, about 100 miles SSW of Little Rock. Ouachita is bordered by the counties of Dallas, Calhoun, Union, Columbia, Nevada and Clark.
