Dallas County

County History and Geography

In the Timberlands Region of southern Arkansas, Dallas County was formed in 1845 from Clark and Bradley counties. Its county seat, Fordyce, is on US-167, about 60 miles south of Little Rock. Dallas is bordered by the counties of Hot Spring, Grant, Cleveland (Old Dorsey), Calhoun, Ouachita and Clark.
