The following obituary is from an unknown source: Miss Cattie Dean Passed Away Sunday The death of Miss Cattie Dean which occurred at her home last Sunday morning came as a shock to the loved ones and friends. Apparently she was feeling as well as usual when she retired the night before, but did not arise until other members of the family had prepared breakfast and went to her room and found that she had passed away only a short while before. Miss Dean was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Wesley Dean. She had made her home with her uncle, Mr. W. T. Dean, and family for the past 35 years. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist church, of which she was a member, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Jesse F. Ray, assisted by Rev. C. L. Ellis and Judge E. J. Garrison. The abundance of beautiful flowers were silent symbols of the appreciation of her friends for the fine, noble character she possessed. She is survived by Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Dean and Miss Annie Maude Dean with whom she made her home; two brothers, James Dean of Marshallville, Ga; and Lou Dean of the Shiloh community; and three sister, Mrs. Bob Powell of Lanett, Mrs. Luther Powell of North Alabama and Mrs. Mattie Ward of Ashland, and other relatives. Active pallbearers were O. W. and E. G. Dean, E. A. Speer, G. C. Pace, and Dr. D. B. Cardwell. Honorary pallbearers were R. L. Carpenter, W. L. Runyan, Judge E. P. Gay and E. D. Riley. Interment was in the City cemetery, Blair directing. Out of town people who were here first of the week on account of the death of Miss Cattie Dean were: Mr. and Mrs. E. A.
