Survivors include her husband, Monroe Sheffield of Cordele; two sons, Thomas D. Sheffield of Donaldsonville and Jimmy Sheffield of Many, La; a brother, Wayne Culpepper of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and two sisters, Betty (Culpepper) Davis of Demopolis, Ala., and Chloe (Culpepper) Posey of Gray. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.1

     Mrs. Culpepper died at Cordele Health and Rehab in Cordele on Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005.
     Born Thursday, Dec. 1, 1921, in Arabi, she was the daughter of the late Charles Dennis Posey and Annie Della Lewis Posey and the widow of Thomas Albert Culpepper. She was a retired seamstress at Cordele Uniform Company.
     She is survived by two sons, David Culpepper of Cordele and Sammy Culpepper of Orange, Texas; two sisters, Katie Mae Odom of Cordele and Ruby Moore of Ashburn; and four granddaughters, Dana Culpepper Hardy of Albany, Dawn Culpepper Ward of Cordele, Susan Culpepper Cooper and Emily Culpepper, both of Orange, Texas.
     The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. today, Feb. 9, 2005 from 7-8:30 p.m. They request that memorials be made to Antioch Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. Friends may register online at www.raineyfuneral.com.1 
Burial*10 Feb 2005 Her body was interred on 10 Feb 2005 at Zion Hope Cemetery, Crisp Co., Georgia.1

     Chloe Irene Culpepper Posey, 80, of Monticello Highway (Gray, GA), died Monday, January 16, 2006 in a local nursing home. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M., Tuesday at Bridges Funeral Home in Gray. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home at 11A.M., Wednesday, January 18, 2006 with burial at 3 P.M. in Antioch Baptist Church in Crisp County.
     The daughter of the late Thomas Wayne Culpepper and Effie Taylor Culpepper, Mrs. Posey was born in Crisp County on December 12, 1925, and was a longtime resident of Macon. She was a homemaker, a Baptist and was preceded in death by her husband Donald Barry Posey and a son Mark Irving Posey.
     Mrs. Posey is survived by her daughter Christine P. Moore of Jones County; son Randall Keith Posey of Jones County; sister Betty Davis of Demopolis, Alabama; brother Wayne Culpepper of New York State; grandchildren, Clay Moore, Kristin Moore, Kevin Posey, Jason Posey, Jody Posey, Kim Dixon, Jennifer Norris, William Thomaston, Matthew Posey and Christopher Posey; and by her great-grandchildren, Toby Posey, Kevin Posey and Keith Posey.
     In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to The ARC, 4664 Sheraton Drive, Macon, Georgia 31210. Bridges Funeral Home in Gray has charge of arrangements.1
