Biography* | Obituary: Debra Renee Culpepper, age 48, of Fitzgerald, passed away Thursday, June 22 at her residence. Culpepper was born Nov. 1, 1957, in Douglas to Jessie E. Baker and the late Agnes Christine Russ Baker. She was a 1975 Honor Graduate of Coffee High School and had lived in Fitzgerald for the past 20 years. Culpepper was a medical records transcriptionist, retiring in 2005 from Dorminy Medical Center. Her hobbies were cross-stitching and ceramics, which she enjoyed making as gifts for her family and friends. Survivors include: Her husband Joe Culpepper; her son and daughter-in-law Joseph C. and Michelle Culpepper; her grandson Joseph Camren Culpepper, all of Fitzgerald; her father J.E. Baker of Douglas; her sisters JoAnn Veal of Douglas, Carol Pfeiffer of Apollo Beach, Fla., and Lanee Baker of Douglas. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests those desiring to send memorials send them to Blue-Gray Community Hospice, P.O.Box 1447, Fitzgerald, 31750. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Ocilla Church of God, with Rev. Tracy Swanson and Rev. Clayton Dowd officiating. Interment will follow at Riverbend Cemetery in Irwin County. Paulk Funeral Home of Fitzgerald is in charge of the arrangements.1 |
