(This is the first reference to Henry Culpepper Jr. in Lower Norfolk County records.) |
Immigration* | 1673 | He immigrated in 1673 to Anne Arundel Co., Maryland; From James White: 'In The Early Settlers of Maryland is the entry for Bartholomew Ingobritson for headrights. Record : "Immigrated in 1673 with his wife and six children. Of Anne Arundell County." His wife was named Ann, and his children were Ann, Bartholomew, Dorcas, Dorothy, Hance, and Sarah. This fits in well with my theory that John White moved to Maryland. Perhaps you will find it helpful in identifying him. Hance is also spelled Hans in Maryland records which seems to indicate to me an origin other than English.' Ingolbritson seems to have connections to both the White and Culpepper families in early Lower Norfolk.2 |
