Nacogdoches County
County History and Geography
In the center of the pine
belt of East Texas,
Nacogdoches County was formed in 1836 as an original
county. The county seat and largest town is Nacogdoches, which is
140 miles northeast of Houston. Nacogdoches County is bounded by the
counties of Rusk, Shelby,
San Augustine,
Angelina and Cherokee.
