Quay County
History
In the northeast region of
New Mexico,
Quay County was established in 1903 from
Guadalupe and Union County. Its county seat,
Tucumcari, is on I-40, about 225 miles east of
Albuquerque. Quay is bordered by the New Mexico counties of
Union, Harding, San Miguel, Guadalupe, De Baca,
Roosevelt and Curry, and the the Texas counties of Oldham and
Deaf Smith.
