Eddy County
History
In the southeast region of
New Mexico,
Eddy County was established in 1889 from the east
side of
Lincoln County. Its county seat,
Carlsbad, is on US-285, about 280 miles southeast of
Albuquerque. Eddy is bordered by the New Mexican counties of
Otero, Chaves and Lea, and the Texas counties of Culberson,
Reeves and Loving.
