Richland Parish
History
In the Uplands region of
northern Louisiana,
Richland Parish was formed in 1869 from
Morehouse, Carroll, Franklin and Ouachita
Parishes. Its
parish seat,
Rayville, is on
I-20 about 120 miles east of Shreveport and 160 miles NNW of Baton Rouge. Richland is bordered by
the parishes of
Morehouse, West Carroll,
East Carroll, Madison, Franklin,
Caldwell and Ouachita.
