Madison Parish
History
In the Uplands region of
northern Louisiana, Madison Parish was formed in
1838 from Concordia Parish. Its parish seat,
Tallulah, is on
I-20 about 150 miles north of Baton Rouge and 20 miles west of Vicksburg, MS. Madison is bordered by the Louisiana parishes of
Tensas, Franklin, Richland
and East Carroll, as well as by the Mississippi county of Warren.
