McIntosh County

History
In the Lower Coastal Plains Region of Georgia,
McIntosh County was formed in 1793 from
Liberty County. Its county seat,
Darien, is on
I-95 about 280 miles southeast of Atlanta, 60 miles south of Savannah and 80 miles
north of Jacksonville. McIntosh is bordered by the counties of
Liberty,
Long, Wayne and
Glynn, and the Atlantic Ocean.
